We have been delayed. Thankfully they were able to call us late last night to tell us. Apparently Dr. Rebeyka (the surgeon) called the case coordinator at home last night to tell her. There is a baby that needed to be operated on first thing today. As much as it inconveniences us, I also know that if I was the parent's of that little one, I would want them to care for him/her as best they could too. So, like in grade school...we wait for our turn...
We need to be there at 9:30am, hopefully with them beginning the operation within an hour of that time. The trickier part of this later time is that she still hasn't eaten since last night's dinner. I woke her up at 5:00am and had her drink a juice box, which was quite a delight when you are two. Not very often Mom is encouraging you to drink apple juice! So we will eat what we can now (while she is still sleeping), and try to not mention food.
