Countdown...

I suppose we have been on the countdown for a few weeks now, but now we are getting down to counting the hours. Hard to believe our world is going to be turned upside down in such a short amount of time! The lull before the storm, I suppose. I am trying to tie up loose ends and deal with things that I know won't be on the forefront of our minds while Abbi is in the hospital.

- Both Rob and I have scholarship/bursary applications that we need to submit (mine before the end of May), so I think tonight we will be sitting side by side filling those out.
- Stuff that needs to be mailed.
- Bills that need to be paid.
- Flowers that need to be planted (which I got done on Mother's day).
- Groceries that need to be bought.
- Laundry that needs to be washed.

That's the amazing stuff about things like this. Generally its caring for a sick relative or mourning the passing of a loved one - your world stops - literally. All of your energy goes into this one thing, and your world just stops. The news stops being relevant, you really stop caring about Brangelina (well, at least for a few days), you'll eat what you need to, and you do what you can to get by.

Yet, as much as this will rock our world, I know that the world keeps spinning. Sometimes its slightly maddening, but its also the reality of life. People have their own lives, their own worries, and their own stresses. But for now, for us, this is world-stopping stuff. And for those of you who read this, I don't ask that your world stop, but we would appreciate your prayers when you do think of us. I'll do what I can to update throughout Abbi's hospital stay. I personally find it a bit of an escape getting away for a while to update people on how Abbi is doing.

So if we fall off the face of the earth for a few weeks, just know that our world stopped spinning for a while.

  2. I am so with you Holly! My life, of course won't stop as yours will, but I will stop to pray throughout today and tomorrow. I wish we were nearer to be able to help, but as we're not, my thoughts and prayers will be with you. If there is anything we can do, please let us know.
    Kisses to sweet Abbi!
    Love Cindy
