Life is good isn't it? I may not have agreed with you earlier today as I was trying to cram all the youth justice information into my brain that it could possibly hold. Seriously, it was like being bloated after a turkey dinner, but it was my brain. And I felt like any ounce of intelligence that I put into anything else, even something as simple as making the kids breakfast, I'd lose just a bit of that brilliance. So I drove to school in a complete daze, but once I got there, it was like clarity sunk in and I wrote out those essay questions like I had a cheat sheet right beside me. Not like I did, but yeah, I feel pretty great about my performance. Of course this is completely dependent on my teacher's interpretation of my answers, but at least I know that I remembered pretty much all of what I meant to write. So another course down, phew!
In other exciting news, I got a phone call Monday night from my maternal Grandmother. Her name is Violet. I have wanted to meet her since I heard about her, and it finally happened. She just happens to be in Edmonton this week, and her daughter Charlene (my Aunt, the first bio family member I met), encouraged her to get in touch with me while she was here. Well, she did, and she came to our house yesterday afternoon for a visit. She got to meet the kids, my cousin Ruth, and we got a good opportunity to chat. I then drove her to an appointment, which allowed for some more non-kid distracted conversation which was nice.
What can I say really? She is a lovely lady. Very sweet. And I think she just oozes with wisdom. And the best part, its effortless! What I was most impressed with was the size of this family. Its unbelievable. For me, someone who comes from a family with one sibling, and Rob who is an only child, the thought of her having 10 siblings is mind-blowing. Basically anyone from the NWT with a few certain last names, I'm likely related to. Sure makes me want to take a trip up there!

So I thought I'd share a picture of us. I think she is just the cutest thing. I hope to be half as cute when I'm in my 60's!
Happy weekend folks!
I'm so glad it worked out to meet her. She looks lovely Holly. Road trip to NWT anyone??
