Go CANADA Go!

If you are one of those folks who has been living under a rock for the past 17 days here in Canada, you can disregard this post, but for the rest of the populace who has taken in a few hours of good 'ol Olympic TV, I thought I would share my few fave Olympic moments.
I can't say we've been ultra die hard fans, mainly due to having only one TV and small children. This is Abbi's main concern when the Olympics are on, "Can I watch Treehouse?" "How about Kid's CBC?" Lets just say Abbi isn't feeling very patriotic these days. Take for example the hockey game on Friday night. "But Mom, we already watched the hockey game!" (as if there is only one hockey game...ever!). Ha, ha, you can tell her Dad isn't your typical Canadian hockey fan.

But believe me, we will be watching the hockey game this afternoon! I'm actually shockingly excited about the entire thing. As a not-normally die hard fan, this is fairly impressive. There is so much at stake. Have you seen the current Coke commercial, "Lets make sure they know who's game they're playing..." Sigh, can you even lose after making claims like that? I mean we already lost once (to the Americans), so if we don't win this one (again, against the Americans)...well, talk about years of ridicule! So I'm definitely rooting for Team Canada. And as Rob says, "Bring on the American meat."

Here are the Olympic mascots. Because we all know Canada houses Sasquatches, and Sea Bears!
We watched Bilodeau win Canada's first gold on home soil. Incredible!

Watching Joannie win gold after the death of her Mother a week prior. Her Mom died while enroute to watch her at the Olympics. So moving! You know her Mom would be proud.

We watched Canada beat Slovakia in a very intense game on Friday night, ensuring them a place in today's gold medal game against the USA.

Or Canada's Womens Hockey team winning gold was pretty powerful. Not to mention it put a lot of pressure on the boys ;)

Or how about when the Slovenian cross country skier, Petra Majdic, (left) broke 4 ribs while training, and still managed to do the actual race and won a bronze medal for her country. Incredible!
Of course there have been plenty more grea Olympic moments, but these are the ones I've witnessed and have really enjoyed the games. Even Rob was a bit of an Olympic bah humbugger at the beginning of the games, and is now getting quite into it. So I hope you'll join us this afternoon cheering on Team Canada. Go Canada Go!!!
