I just wanted to do a quick post to celebrate the quilt goodness that is in our lives. Both of the Alberta "Grandma's" are quilters. My Mom (who is Nana) is not a quilter, but she makes up for it with her savvy shopping skills!
I definitely appreciate quilting, especially old style traditional quilts. I think I have this idea of it from the movie "How to Make An American Quilt." There is some sort of nostalgia to it. All these ladies all putting their love, energy, history, skills into a beautiful masterpiece. With the odd touch of gossip here and there ;)
Yup, I definitely foresee quilting in my future. Although I'm far too busy at this point in life. I kind of like the idea of me sitting around with a bunch of grey hairs (I would be included in the club by that point), sipping tea, and chattering away while we work.
Abbi's Quilt
This is the first quilt Ruth (Gammy) ever made. There is also a matching pillow sham.

Abbi's Pansy Quilt.
Made by Grandma N. to go with Abbi's purple room.

Gabe's Animal Quilt.
Made by Grandma N. He loves it. He always is looking at the duck, grinning up a storm.

Gabe's Ragtime Quilt.
Made by Gammy.
Ruth used the star material that we have as Gabe's valance to pick out the fabrics.
Ruth hand-quilted in numerous things that are relevant to Gabe's family history.
This is our last name, and there is also a little mouse. Which is Rob's nickname for Abbi.
Hope you enjoyed our quilt tour!
