Ooo, the bargains

OK, OK. So this will likely be a fairly common topic on my blog...Thrifty Goodness. That's right! I love bargains. I love sales. I love clearance racks (actually I think I'm physically drawn to them). BOGO (For you non-thrifty types that means "Buy-One-Get-One"). The list goes on and on...

The other night I had to run over to the mall to pick up Abbi's medicine. Technically this should be a 20 minute trip (max), but then, I had to wait 20 minutes to have my prescription refilled, so I thought I might as well browse around Zellers while I wait. Bad news. I think I was gone for a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes, and the worst part was that our cell phone was out of airtime, so when Rob tried to call me to tell me that Gabe was up and HUNGRY, it didn't go through. So poor Gabe suffered through my amazing deals. And so did Rob, and Abbi...but still, I mean we are talking some serious deals here. Does that count for anything? ;)

So in my 45 mins at Zellers here is the breakdown of what I got for $20.96 (including tax):
$2.00 - Funky Orange Toque
$8.98 - Jeans (that actually fit my postpartum self)
$5.99 - Cute white shirt
$2.99 - Yoga pants

Unfortunately the yoga pants are too big, but I'm hoping I might be able to go back and find some in a smaller size. BUT STILL! That's crazy! I was so impressed. We have allowances you see. Rob constantly tries to convince me that we need to increase our allowances - or maybe just his. Not going to happen anytime soon. But we get $50 every two weeks (am I a total scrooge?). I find it to be manageable. Anyway, I had $16 left from my allowance, and $10 from a pair of pants that I sold on kijiji. So like totally do-able! Deals like that really do make my day.

My Mom and I are HBC sleuths (she works at the Bay). She keeps me hip with all of the good deals. So an additional 40% off of clearance prices is a steal (which is what it is this week at Zellers). She has taught me well. I know how to work the Bay and Zellers like a pro. Which is where I get most of my clothes (not a huge name brand person), the kids clothes, and the hubby's clothes (much to his chagrin).

Here are a few pics of my deals...
