Blogging Argh...

Well, for those three of you who actually read this, I'm sure you've noticed some changes. This is my argh. I figured how hard could all this HTML business really be? Well, to someone who doesn't even know what that stands for, apparently its pretty difficult. I was trying to change the formatting around, but I think I've come to the conclusion that because my template isn't a Blogger template, I might not be able to adjust it. Plus, it has three columns, rather than two (which is what I wanted), so perhaps that can't be changed, unless I change the template. Anyway, this kept me up until 11:00pm trying to figure it all out. Well, I suppose Gabe really kept me up until 11:00pm, but while I nursed him, I tried to figure it out. So I guess this is how it will have to work for now, unless someone brilliant can tell me how to do this???

Today was a busy, slightly chaotic day. We were planning on going to visit Abbi's old daycare. We still haven't been since Gabe was born and it was about time. I had hoped to be there by 10:00am. Then it was 9:30am and I still hadn't gotten Gabe up or fed him. OK, OK, it will be 10:30am. Then I got a phone call. And then, and then, and then. It never ends some days!!! We finally got there at 11:00am. It was nice to see everyone, and Abbi was quite reluctant to leave. She loved her time in daycare. Shannon runs an excellent dayhome, I would recommend it to anyone thinking of putting their kids in care here in Edmonton. Its called Shannon's Dayhome.

Here's the reality of being a nursing Mother. You only have so much time to do anything. Last night I was on the clock, although thankfully I had a bottle of milk I had pumped, so that gave me a bit more time, but still time is a ticking. So next time you see a Mom rushing about in her minivan, rather than finger her or assume she is a highly irresponsible person, consider that she is a nursing Mother with only 1 hour to get 6 things done. Or the Mom in the grocery store who seems completely oblivious to her three kids screaming in the shopping cart, don't assume she is a poor parent who doesn't tend to her children's needs - she just has to get it done, screaming or no screaming. I have come to appreciate this fact over these past few months...

So in my two hours last night I did the following. Dropped off at the consignment store. Picked up something from the scrapbooking store. Ran into Costco to pick up my film. Note the "ran in" bit. Our Costco is generally a mad house, which is why I try to only go every two months. But it was a ghost town in there and they had some excellent deals on items we normally buy, so I was actually able to run in!
Then I had to fill up with gas (which is a terrible thing to have to do when its -20 outside!). Then I I had to stop at the post office. Drop a movie off at the library (I had completely forgotten we still had it - I'm sure the library makes a schwack of money off of us). Pick up some material for a receiving blanket for a friend's new little one from Fabricland. Stop at Sbux and get some coffee, and I was quite pleased to get a pound of Pike Place. If you know anything about Starbucks this was the original store where it all began, and this blend has been only sold in the US until recently. And finally come home. Whew!

And now, due to my consigment business, I have a mess of a house that I should get to cleaning. I hope to sew the receiving blanket over the weekend, which will probably also cause terrific mess, but at least that will be done. And the house will be clean, for a moment or so...

  1. Phew you're a very productive mama! Wish I could get so many things done in 2 hrs.
