Kids really do say the darndest things...

Happy New Year in 2010 to all of my readers!!!

I have to admit, I often feel like crying on New Year's Eve. Don't ask me why. I think it always hits home that another year has passed, and yes, there will only be so many left. I actually read recently that we will be lucky to see 90 Christmases in our lifetimes. Now don't get be wrong, that's a pretty fab number, but doesn't it just hit home to make our short time on this Earth worthwhile?

I hope to do a New Year's Resolution's type post, hopefully today. Or tomorrow. One of these days I'll get down to writing out my resolutions ;)

In the meantime, I thought I'd share a story of our little girl from last night. Rob was out playing at the church for a special NYE service. When he came home about 9:30pm, he quickly grabbed the dinner that he didn't have time to eat before he left. The most delicious stuffed pork loin, and scallops (seriously, it was divine!). He went up to Abbi's room to say goodnight. He crept in, only to be greeted by a very exuberant "Hi Daddy!" So she really wasn't asleep at all.

Rob snuggled into her bed, and the conversation went something like this...

"Daddy, do you smell something?"

"No?"

"It smells like a dragon."

"A Fire-Meakin' Dragon?," Rob asked
(Yes, its not a fire-breathing dragon, according to Abbi, but a fire "making" dragon. Which she pronounces as "meakin")

"Yes," says Abbi.

A few second later, Abbi says...

"Daddy, it smells like garbage..."

Bwa, ha ha ha ha. Oh my, it hurt. Ha, ha, ha. Too funny. Seriously, HILARIOUS!
If that isn't motivation to brush your teeth, I don't know what is?

  1. Hi, not sure if this will work. Always fun to read a little of your blog before bedtime.
